Cell & Systems Physiology

A Career in Cell and Systems Physiology

A research career in Cell and Systems Physiology requires the ability to integrate a wide spectrum of knowledge from intracellular processes such as cell signaling to the control of organ systems. Students with a B.S. in Biological Sciences or Physiological Sciences have obtained the necessary knowledge base and practical laboratory experiences to obtain employment and succeed in this field. Employment opportunities are available in industry (for example, pharmaceutical, biotech, and instrument design), health care, and university research.

Recent advances in gene regulation and protein structure has led to a renewed interest in cell and systems physiology with particular interests in understanding the relationship between cell structure and function. Our hands on laboratory based curriculum are designed to prepare our graduates for these challenging research careers.
