THE
PRE-DENTAL SCHOLARS PROGRAM

Requirements
The Pre-Dental Scholars
Program, available only to incoming freshmen, provides for an acceleration
of the undergraduate education with the student completing requirements for
the baccalaureate with a Biology Major and the D.D.S. degree in seven
years. Admission to this Program conditionally guarantees the
Scholar a place only in Marquette’s School of Dentistry at the end of the
three year program ( and having earned at least 98 credits) providing the
student has successfully completed the requirements of the Program.
Scholars Major in the Biological Sciences. Coordination of the Scholar’s

College of Arts and Science and the

Academic Requirements
of Program

1. Maintain a
cumulative 3.500 grade point average in the undergraduate curriculum.
2. Receive no
grade less than a “B” in any Science of Math course
Students who fail to
meet the above academic requirements in any semester will be placed on
probation the following semester. A second probationary semester that is
separated from the first one by a semester Of: Good Standing” is permitted.
Two consecutive semesters of failing to meet the academic requirements will
result in withdrawal from the program. Students who are withdrawn from the
Program are not precluded from applying to Marquette’s Dental School, or any other, they can
still be considered for acceptance providing they then meet the conditions
for acceptance in place at that time for that particular Dental School.
Although Marquette’s
Dental School will hold a place for
those scholars who successfully complete the Program students are not
required to attend Marquette’s School of Dentistry.
The financial aid and
scholarships that Scholars receive is applicable to only the first three
years at Marquette. After successfully completing the Program and being
accepted into the Dental School the student must then
apply for any financial aid and scholarships through the Dental School.
It should be noted
that this Program only confers the baccalaureate degree to those Scholars
who successfully complete the Program and attend Marquette’s School of
Dentistry. Scholars who successfully complete the Program and, for whatever
reason, choose to attend another Dental School are not eligible to obtain a
baccalaureate degree from Marquette University
